Continuous Close Accounting

Your clients' books, reconciled to the chain,
not just to a spreadsheet.

Shepherd reads stablecoin and bank activity directly from the source, classifies it with AI that gets sharper with every approval, and closes the books continuously instead of once a month.

The problem

Crypto close is still done by hand.

Stablecoin activity doesn't arrive with a memo line or a GL code. Most firms are still exporting CSVs from a block explorer, manually matching counterparties, and rebuilding financial statements from scratch every month, for every client and every wallet. The close takes days, the trail is hard to defend in an audit, and it doesn't scale past a handful of clients.

How it works

Three steps, running continuously.

01

Connect

Add a wallet address, a business bank account, or both. Shepherd reads directly from the blockchain and from your bank, with no manual export required.

02

Classify

AI suggests a GL code with a confidence score and its reasoning. Approve once, and every future transaction from that counterparty classifies itself.

03

Reconcile

Financial statements build in real time as you classify. Balances are verified independently against the chain itself and against QuickBooks, not just checked with internal math.

Built for the close

The parts that actually matter to a CPA.

Reconciliation

Verified against two sources you don't control

Shepherd checks its own math against a live balance query to the blockchain, and separately against QuickBooks' own account balances. That means "reconciled" is independently proven, not self-reported.

Fair value

ASC 820 period-end remeasurement

Non-stablecoin holdings get marked to fair value each period with a full disclosure rollforward: opening balance, additions, dispositions, unrealized gain or loss, and closing balance, by asset.

One ledger

Fiat and stablecoin, together

Bank accounts connect the same way wallets do. Everything flows through the same classification engine, the same rules, and the same financial statements, so there is no second system to reconcile against.

Audit trail

Every action, timestamped

Classifications, rescans, rule changes, and exports are logged as they happen and exportable on demand, built to hold up when someone asks how a number was produced.

Coverage

Base, Ethereum, Polygon, and Solana

Every chain scans automatically for all its major stablecoins, including USDC, USDT, DAI, USDP, PYUSD, and EURC where each exists. No separate setup per token, and no manual export from a block explorer.

If you're managing crypto-native clients, let's talk.

Shepherd is working with a small number of accounting firms right now to shape the product around real close workflows. If that's you, I'd like twenty minutes.
